What is an assessment
Assessment is one type of learning item inside a journey where you complete and submit work. Each assessment has one or more ways to submit your response — as written text, a document, or a video.
Starting an assessment
When you reach an assessment in your journey:
- Open the assessment item
- Read the assessment description
- Select "Start" in the overview panel on the right
The assessment opens in a new panel. You can see the full brief and your submission area on the same screen.
Submitting your response
Depending on how the assessment is set up, you may be able to submit in one or more of the following ways.
Written response
- Type your response directly into the text field
- Use the formatting toolbar to add headings, bold, lists, or links
- Select "Submit" when you are ready
Document upload
- Select "Upload from your device"
- Choose the file you want to submit
- Select "Submit" when you are ready
Video
- Select "Upload" to upload a video file from your device, or select "Paste link" to submit a link to an existing video
- Select "Submit" when you are ready
After you submit
Once you submit, your response appears inline with your name and a timestamp confirming when it was submitted. You can review what you submitted at any time by returning to the assessment.
Peer review
Some assessments can include peer review. When this is enabled, you must complete two peer reviews in addition to your own submission — both are required to complete the assessment.
How it works
- Submit your own response first
- Once at least five participants have submitted, peer reviews become available
- Select the "Peer review" tab to see the reviews assigned to you
- Write and submit your two reviews
A few things to know
- You will receive a notification when peer reviews are ready for you to complete
- You will also be notified when your own submission has received a review
- Reminder notifications will be sent if you have outstanding reviews to complete
- Once submitted, reviews cannot be edited
- Your review is visible to the person you reviewed and to the journey owner
Who can see your submission
Your submission is only visible to Collegial and the designated stakeholders at your company. If peer review is enabled, the participants assigned to review your work will also be able to see your submission.
Additional protections in place:
- A non-disclosure agreement exists between your company and Collegial
- The Collegial platform is ISO 27001 certified, meaning your data is held to rigorous international information security standards
Sharing in group sessions
A non-disclosure agreement is in place across all companies in the Combient network, which includes every company participating in the program.
Within the Combient network, you have the freedom to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, in line with your own company's guidelines. There is no expectation to disclose more than you are authorised to share.
